Camp Winaukee is an all boys, sports sleepaway summer camp and is located on the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in the heart of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Since 1920, Winaukee has prided itself on its traditions and a set of values that campers and staff members follow; Community, Brotherhood, Spirit, and Sportsmanship. All of which help campers become young men while having the time of their lives, with the incredible opportunity to meet people from all over the United States and even more impressive, the world. Winaukee is a place where your son can learn new skills, build upon old ones and do all this while having fun and being surrounded by people who want the absolute best for him. At Winaukee, campers have the opportunity to to achieve, whether that be by catching their very first fish, zipping down the zipline, standing up on a wakeboard or scoring the winning goal in an intercamp competition. Supporting our campers while they are achieving their goals is something that is extremely important to us at Winaukee. We do this by providing a safe environment while encouraging their independence in a way that meets their social and emotional wellbeing.

Supporting our campers to have their emotional needs met is an important task we take on year after year. Emotional well-being is the ability to produce positive emotions, moods, thoughts, and feelings, and adapt when confronted with adversity and stressful situations. Summer camp can be a place where a child’s emotional well-being is tested. Being away from the comfort of home, in a new environment and maybe challenging themselves to do new things. When a child is emotionally healthy, they can manage things in their life without losing control, and if they do lose control they can bounce back. The staff at Winaukee support the emotional wellbeing of their campers with love, care and support. Our staff undergo extensive training by our experienced leadership team; learning how to promote this positive experience for the campers in our care. When a child feels safe and secure they feel free to explore their interests, to play and to laugh. In turn, this creates bonds with others and strengthens the brotherhood of our community. Camp gives kids an opportunity to express themselves and learn who they are as individuals. We believe that our campers will feel a greater connection to their community through camp activities like playing sports, trying new things, and joining in with special events like a camp talent show. As a result, they will grow up to value community and may feel more inclined to make a positive impact on the world around them. A greater sense of community teaches a child that they can make a difference in the world around them.
