Our son started going to Winaukee when he was just 7 years old. It’s the best decision we ever made for him. Winaukee fosters an incredible community of campers and counselors that Nathan stays connected to all year long. Heading to camp is his favorite day of the year, heading home is the saddest.

I was a Winaukee camper, and our sons have spent 6 summers and 4 summers at Winaukee respectively (and counting). We are watching as they experience the same things I did – the friendships; the competition; and the beauty of Lake Winnipesaukee. We feel fortunate that our boys have had this opportunity, and I am grateful for the chance to spend more time there each summer myself.

My recent conversation with our son said it all. I asked him if he was looking forward to going back to Winaukee this summer. He looked at me a bit amused and said that it was great to play basketball, lacrosse, waterski and hang out with a great group of people. He then said it was nearly perfect. I am not sure I can add to that narrative. Thank You!

Our child has grown in so many ways, thanks to seven amazing summers at Camp Winaukee. The friendships formed and life lessons learned, have been invaluable…but most importantly, his self-esteem and confidence have flourished thanks to an exceptional group of counselors. He cannot wait to return to his “Happy Place” every year.

Camp Winaukee weaves in core values that are central to a child’s development. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and loyalty are just a few ideals that are incorporated on a daily basis. As our son embarks on his 6th summer, we are grateful for the positive environment Winaukee has created which develops character. Upon finishing his 5th summer, our son summed it up by saying “I had the best time of my life on the Mainland and now I have a root system of brothers that reach all over the world. This makes me feel like I know where I belong.”
