Side by Side: Keeping the Winaukee Community Strong All Year Lon

October 13, 2026

At Camp Winaukee, we often talk about what it means to stand “Side by Side”. During the summer, that looks like cheering on a bunkmate at the ropes course, passing the ball in a tight game, or singing arm-in-arm around the campfire. But the true magic of the Winaukee community is that those bonds don’t disappear when the summer ends…they carry us through the rest of the year.

Community is at the core of everything we do. We believe that the friendships built on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee can last a lifetime. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to once again take the Winaukee spirit on the road this off-season!

We are traveling across the country to bring our camp family together. Whether you are a current camper eager to reunite with your summer buddies, a prospective family looking to learn more about our community, or an alum wanting to relive the glory days, we want to see you there.

Ashleigh Jackowitz

Ashleigh grew up in Boise, Idaho and got her first taste of sleepaway camp in 2006 when she was hired to work on the waterfront at Camp Walt Whitman. She spent 5 summers there before joining the full-time team. Ashleigh attended Williamette University in Salem, Oregon as a college athlete in Volleyball. Prior to starting full time in camping, she took the chance to travel around the world, to every continent, over the course of 3 years. Teaching English in South Korea for a year was definitely a highlight! She has been involved with the American Camp Association as a Tri-State Conference Program Track Chair and is a speaker at multiple camp conferences. She also is a passionate advocate of Project Morry, an organization that helps youth from under-served communities attend summer camp, having served for many years on their Dare to Dream Committee. Her favorite role is as mom to their sons Cooper & Henry. Ashleigh, Matt, Cooper & Henry currently live in Ridgefield, CT.
